About Us
In 2025–26, the Solar Division is continuing our work on building a portable solar panel with sun tracking abilities, built completely in-house. The main aspects of this project is soldering solar cells into arrays, electrical and mechanical testing, designing and manufacturing the frame and programming a tracking system.
New members can get involved at any stage, no matter their experience level. Lots of the work is lab based - this includes soldering and electrical testing all of which anyone can help with.
Our current focus is assembling test solar cell arrays to see how we can increase power output and the success of our manufacturing process. We also support other divisions with their solar needs.
Last academic year I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and am now beginning my PhD with the Wearable Electronics team. I joined RESUS last year as part of the Solar Division and have since taken on the role of Lead for the team. I’m excited to lead and grow this team and build our first prototype.
