About Us
Within turbine division, we are approaching the end of our multi-year project to design and assemble a vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT). Having completed research and CAD design, we are now focussed on manufacturing and assembly. The blades have been manufactured through a carbon fibre layup and we are currently working with the EDMC to manufacture the turbine's structure. After this, we will assemble the turbine and then begin work on a new project. Although nothing is confirmed yet, we are looking into the development of a tidal turbine, although other ideas and thoughts are always strongly welcomed!
We are currently a small but welcoming division, and look forward to seeing new faces join us. As a part of the team, you'll have the chance to develop practical skills such as CAD design, hands on experience with carbon-fibre layups and working collaboratively on engineering projects, focussing on creating an environment where team members feel comfortable contributing and learning from one another.
My name is Ryan Vincent and I am the Turbine lead for this academic year. I am a third year Mechanical engineering student. I have no idea what else to say about myself really, let me know if there is anything else you need!
